New
Curve deformer
Draw a curve through your model, then bend, twist and pose it like a rig, with branch curves riding along with their parent.
Sound for sculpting and weather
Every brush makes a sound that follows your pressure, speed and brush size, and rain and thunder can be heard too, with thunder arriving from where the lightning struck.
Fire material
Make any material burn, with rising flames, embers, smoke and a flickering light on its surroundings, starting from presets like Campfire, Candle and Blue gas.
Full PBR specular
New highlight models, anisotropy, rainbow diffraction, sparkling flakes under a clear coat, orange peel and crackle glaze, matching in the viewport and in raytracing.
Retro CRT
Turn the whole window, panels included, into an old terminal tube, with eleven phosphor profiles that remember your tweaks.
Windows installer and updates
Install Klay like any app with a quick first launch, open .klay files with a double-click, and update from inside Klay when a new version is out.
Make the interface yours
Pick an accent colour, scale the panels from 90 to 200%, and tune roundness, brightness, saturation and hue.
Brush reach modes
Choose whether a brush touches everything in its ring, only the surface connected to it, or everything under it at any depth.
Privacy switch
Klay sends a small anonymous usage report at launch, never your files or scenes, and one switch turns it off.
Improved
Settings right on the top bar
Wire, Focus, Symmetry and Raytracing each have an arrow that opens their settings, Focus can pick its colour, and the view switch names the mode you are in.
Tap S for the Lantern
A quick tap of S jumps to the Lantern tool and a second tap takes you back, while holding S still moves the lights.
Duplicate and mirror groups
Duplicate copies a whole group with everything inside it, and Duplicate X makes a mirrored copy.
Scenes keep their own look
Post effects and weather are saved in the scene, and a new scene starts with them off.
Rain and haze reach the horizon
Rain falls all the way to the distant ground, and haze blends into fog and clouds, in VR too.
Your own weather defaults
Set as default on any Volumetric or Weather section makes every new scene start from your values.
Settings survive updates
Your settings, brushes and materials live in Documents\Klay, and updates keep everything you changed.
Rests when you are elsewhere
When Klay is not the active window it stops rendering, so your graphics card cools down, and no terminal window opens behind it.
